Oklahoma – Pop Pass with Jet Motion

by Coach Jake Franklin

Oklahoma uses both Jet Motion and Inside Zone Play-Action to draw in the Line Backers and move the Safeties, giving the TE room to work once he releases from the line of scrimmage on his route.

The TE holds his block for a one-count, then release into the second level to receive a pass from the QB. The Inside Zone causes the LB’s to flow away from the TE’s route while the Jet Motion takes away the Field Side Safety to vacate the area that the TE will be running his route in. Lincoln Riley uses motions and shifts to manipulate the defense to create space for his players.
