Texas A&M – Counter Play Action Double Wheel

This week Texas A&M ran a very well-designed counter play-action pass using an unbalanced formation. This play has several things that put the defense at a disadvantage. First, the unbalanced formation caused them to bring their CB over leaving the backside edge of the formation weak. Second, utilizing the pullers and the fake lead block by the F, this action gave every indication that the counter was coming back to the backside of the formation. This forces the linebackers and safety to honor the counter run, which allows the F and the Y to slip behind the defenders. Easy outside in read for the QB Texas A&M connected with the F for a touchdown.
