Oklahoma – Counter

Oklahoma uses this counter play to get a double team and pull lineman to move gaps for the defense to defend. With counter, the RB is able to get downhill in the run game and see cuts off his pulling lineman. By running it strong, Oklahoma is able to get hats on hats to the playside with the lead RB blocking the apex SLB allowing the Slot to block the SS. Oklahoma is attaching a QB read option on the backside to hold the unblocked DE. If he chases the RB, the QB will pull for the run weak.
