LSU – Red Zone Smash

This play is a great twist on a basic smash concept and a great Red Zone play. LSU ran this play for a touchdown right before half and executed it to perfection. Alabama appears to be in a cover 4 look which is perfect for this scheme. Two things happened here that allowed the RB to be so wide open. First the WLB jumped the Speed Out not getting depth under the corner route, and second, the MLB would need to run with this route out of the backfield which is difficult from his positioning. Great play to add to your Red Zone call list.
