Alabama – Fake Reverse Swing Pass

Alabama does a great job of giving the defense different looks to find ways to get their best player Devonta Smith the football. In this red zone look, they do a great job of selling the end of round (reverse) to attack the man coverage they are seeing. As soon as Smith takes off selling the reverse, the defender who has Smith in man coverage takes off sprinting across the formation. Alabama is trying to use the defender’s momentum and reaction against himself with this counter by Smith and when Smith reverses back for the swing pass the CB lost vision of him. This allows for an easy completion while creating leverage and space for Smith to get the edge and score a touchdown.
